Stones River Eyecare offers the following services to our patients:

Pre-Screening prescreen

  • HOTV - checks eye acuity, color vision and depth perception.
  • Auto Refraction - gives an estimation of patients prescription.
  • Non-Contact Tonometer- "known as the air puff test" checks the eye pressure and helps in detection of glaucoma.
  • Corneal Typography - "for contact patients only" evaluates eye health for ability of contact lens wear.

  • Retinal Photography - takes a high resolution photograph of the eye that aides in the diagnosis of diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol, and certain cancers such as melanoma.
  • Visual Field Test - measures an individual's entire scope of vision and assists in the detection of glaucoma damage to the optic nerve, central or peripheral retinal disease, eyelid conditions such as ptosis or drooping, optic nerve disease, and diseases affecting the visual pathways within the brain.
  • GDx - uses a laser to determine the thickness of the nerve fiber layer and can help in diagnosis and management of glaucoma.

Optometry Exam exam

  • Examination of Current Eyewear - checks your current prescription eyewear for visual accuracy.
  • Eye Wellness Examination - overall examination of eye health that aides in detection of eye disease, glaucoma, and other eye conditions.
  • Dilation - allows the optometrist to see all the way into the back of the eye in order to inspect the health of the cornea, iris, and lens of the eye.
  • Final Determination - determination of current vision and needs such as glasses, contacts, cataract surgery, lasik, etc.

Additional Services

  • Laser Vision Co-Management - if you are interested in laser correction Stones River Eyecare will happily determine if you are a candidate for lasik and refer you to a lasik specialist.
  • Children's Eye Exams - most of what children learn in the early stages of development is by sight. According to the American Optometric Association (AOA), infants should have their first comprehensive eye exam at six months of age.
  • Punctal Plug Occlusion - punctal plugs can be an effective step in treating moderate to severe dry eye that is unresponsive to artificial tear drops and ointments.
  • Cataract Post Operative Care - we provide post operative care for cataract surgery patients.
